BONAVENTURE, N.Y—Dr. Chris Mackowski, professor of journalism and mass communication in St. Bonaventure University’s Jandoli School of Communication was honored by the American Battlefield Trust’s Teach Institute. The American Battlefield Trust is the largest nonprofit organization devoted preserving American’s hallowed battlegrounds. Although primaril focused on the protection of Civil War battlefields, the trust works to save battlefields connected to the Revolutionary War and War of 1812, as well. Through educational programs and heritage tourism initiatives the trust also informs the publi about the vital role battlefield played in determining the course of our nation’s history.
